If you love food and wine then be sure to visit Orlando during the autumn. the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival is held annually and it transforms the theme park into a food and wine lover?s paradise.

Since debuting in 1996 the event has been a huge success as guests get the chance to sample specialty foods and beverages supplied from countries all over the globe. Traditionally the World Showcase area of the Epcot park is utilized for the event as guests wander from area to area, country to country, sampling the delights and delicacies of each region.

All told, the stroll around the 40 acre lagoon is approximately 1.2 miles long and visitors can sample the cuisine, culture and entertainment of the eleven countries that are permanently located at Epcot as well as the additional booths that are set up along the way. with the additional booths World Showcase more than doubles in size and becomes 25 international marketplaces featuring a wide array of foods, wines and beers.

The festival itself draws amateur and professional gourmets to sample delicacies from all around the world. Celebrity chefs are often on-hand to host events as well as chefs from Disney?s own fine dining establishments. Culinary demonstrations featuring guest chefs from around the world also take place throughout the day and these are an excellent way to pick up some new cooking tips.

Along with great food and drink comes great music and the Food & Wine Festival is no exception. Free concerts are held nightly at the America Gardens Theater and this is a chance to see world class performers strut their stuff. in the past artists like Billy Ocean, Beach Boys, little Richard, Chubby Checker have entertained and each season you can expect a stellar line up.

Worried about things to do for the kids? then don?t. They can get in on the act, with special demonstrations and activities designed just for them. From learning about honey from beekeepers with observation hives, to baking their own tollhouse cookies, or simply gawking at huge award winning pumpkins, there is plenty to keep the younger set involved.

Drink around the world and Eat around the world are both affectionate, if unofficial, slogans for Epcot?s Food and Wine Festival as the theme park is transformed into a destination filled with the world?s tastiest regional foods and drinks, rockin? concerts, and unforgettable sensory experiences.

Epcot Theme Park admission is required and some Epcot International Food & Wine Festival events also require ticket fees in addition to admission to Epcot. Availability is limited for some events so plan early and you?ll be sure to enjoy a fabulous day out at the festival.
