A rash of injuries has made this the toughest of seasons for Brothers Pastries manager Joe Calabrese.
But, somehow perennial power Brothers is still atop the T-M Major standings with a 4-2 record.
The problem is Brothers has no room for error this season in the T-M, especially with first and last place only separated by two games.
Team DMZ is currently alone in second with a 3-2 mark, followed by the NY Dynasty, the SI Pirates and Victory Sports, all 3-3.
Dependable Auto Body is 3-4 and two-time defending playoff champ Reyes Progreso is in last place at 2-4, one good Sunday away from getting back in the middle of the pack.
Sunday, the division leaders meet a very good NY Dynasty club. Also on the docket, Victory Sports plays the SI Pirates and Team DMZ and Dependable Auto Body meets Reyes Progreso in a rematch of last year?s playoff final.
FIRST LOSS FOR FALCONS
The Falcons suffered their first loss, a a 6-0 decision against Victory State Bank (6-3) in Legends/Murphy League play last Sunday.
Victory got a complete game from right-hander Mike Collette while Keith Ratcliffe, Matt Carlucci and George Chicolo came through against Falcon ace Danny Contant.
The Falcons bounced back in the second game, knocking off Victory 11-1 to improve to 7-1, a game in front of Mug Shots, 7-2.
On Sunday, the Falcons face Siegel Family, which will send brothers Chris and Tom Consolmagno to the hill.
STILL UNDEFEATED
There?s one undefeated team left on Sunday mornings, Moe?s Southwest Grill in the Peter Tomasino League.
Moe?s is 8-0, two games in front of the Braves (6-2) and three in front of the CC&R Royals (5-3) who square off Sunday with hopes of staying in the chase.
