?UPDATE:
The lockdown has ended at West Virginia Northern Community College after it was deemed a man who threatened to harm himself in call to a family member this morning posed no risk to the school.
According to Wheeling Police Chief Shawn Schwertfeger, the man never had a gun, and the case is being treated a mental hygiene issue. The chief said the department deals with suicide threats on a common basis, but due to a heightened reaction after the Newtown tragedy, today's incident set off many alarms in the community.
No students were on campus at WVNCC today, only a few faculty members. The lockdown began at 11:30 a.m. and ended at 12:50 p.m.
Police continue to search for the man in question.

UPDATE: Wheeling Police Chief Shawn Schwertfeger said the man suspected of having a gun is likely riding a bicycle in the Bridgeport area. WVNCC will remain under lockdown until they are cleared.
