MARTIN: We've been hearing your poetic tweets on this program as part of our celebration of National Poetry Month. We've been asking you to send us poems that are no more than 140 characters through Twitter. We've received more than 500 responses from all over the country.

Today, a tweet from Pat Allen. She tells us she is a wife, a mom and a grammy. She's been a teacher, a social worker and a grant writer who lives in Tarboro, North Carolina.

Now remember, these are short, only 140 characters each, so listen closely.

Ms. PAT ALLEN: This is Pat Allen and here is my tweet. Frost had a horse and a snowy evening. Sandburg had fog and a cat. I have cold feet, frozen after miles of not moving on.

MARTIN: Like we said, these are short so let's hear it again.

Ms. ALLEN: Frost had a horse and a snowy evening. Sandburg had fog and a cat. I have cold feet, frozen after miles of not moving on.

MARTIN: That's a poetic tweet by Pat Allen.
